Boiler Plan partners with NEA to launch Free Boiler Scheme

In the UK, around 4 million households are living in fuel poverty and are unable to afford to live in a warm, dry home.* Fuel poverty is caused by a mixture of high energy prices, a low-income wage and housing that is energy inefficient.

The NEA estimates 21.5% of all people living in properties with the lowest energy ratings (E, F or G) are fuel poor and make up 39.7% of all fuel-poor households. This is compared to only 2.7% of households that live in properties with the highest energy ratings (A, B or C) – they make up just 7.2% of all fuel-poor households.**

In a bid to reduce fuel poverty, here at Boiler Plan we’re extremely proud to be awarded a partnership with National Energy Action (NEA) and launch our Free Boiler Scheme. Together, we’re offering to upgrade inefficient or broken boilers for those with a household income of less than £20k per annum and live in the North East, Teesside, or East side of Yorkshire.

We’ve been awarded the partnership due to our hard work helping to fight against fuel poverty – we’ve recently manufactured our very own boiler that was built with quality, efficiency & affordability in mind. This offers a high quality, A-rated boiler at a low-cost price of less than £20 per month with no deposit.

We hope this Free Boiler Scheme will help those who need it most and will have a positive impact on fuel poverty statistics across the North of England.

Our Managing Director, Ian Henderson, responded to the news “We are delighted to be partnering with the NEA for our Free Boiler Scheme initiative. It’s a topic that’s incredibly close to the hearts of all of us at Boiler Plan. Fuel poverty statistics in the UK are staggering – they’re too high and too widespread across the UK.”

“We hope this scheme will help the most vulnerable people in the North of England ahead of the coldest months of the year.”
